Venous Leg Ulcers

What are Venous Leg Ulcers?

A venous leg ulcer is a non-healing open wound that is caused by venous pump failure. It usually occurs near the inside of the ankle, but can be found anywhere below the knee. It can occur with or without visible varicose veins.

Symptoms of an ulcer typically include a red, open, draining, non-healing, painful wound in a swollen leg.

Venous Leg Ulcer Treatment

Dr. McCormick and staff effectively treat venous leg ulcers with a combination of non-elastic compression and Endovenous Laser Treatment (ELT), and/or Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy.
